The Israel Young Professionals Affinity Group was awarded with the IEEE Region 8 Young Professionals Outstanding Affinity Group Award for 2018.
The Israeli group was established in 2016 by Aleksey Dyskin, a PhD student in our department, who serves as its Chair and is the driving force behind its activities. Its goal and vision is to bring together academia, industry and young professionals (graduate students and young engineers). Among its activities, the Group organizes annual conferences, biannual lectures on Entrepreneurship in Semiconductors (held in our department), and maintains international bonds with IEEE societies and conferences. For further details see http://www.ieee.org.il/syp/ .
The Israeli group was singled out, based on its extensive activity, among many competing groups from Europe, Africa and the Arab world.
Congratulatations to Aleksey for his initiative and dedication, that led to this significant achievement for the Israel IEEE Chapter.
